Rochelle is a little 12 week old Shih Tzu pup who was brought here by a good Samaritan because her owner wasn't going to treat her injuries. At the time she had a pelvic fracture and a large open wound on a most of her back. Since being here and helping her through the major pain we have discovered that the injury has caused permanent paralysis. She has no use of her hind end and little control over her bladder and bowels. But when you see this little girl scoot around with her two very healthy front legs you will realize why we are now trying to find her a responsible loving home. Eventually she will need a cart but for the first year, until she is grown, she will need special care as to not allow her hind legs to get sores that may become infected. If you are interested in Rochelle then please stop in to the SPCA and ask about speaking to someone on our medical team about the specialized care she will need. But know this now, that once you meet Rochelle you will soon fall in love with her big brown eyes and her constant licking, that you may not be able to resist bringing her home.
